“Photo booths are out and open booths with a back drop are in.”.“Mason Jars can be a cheap way to decorate your wedding but using these common canning items, wrapped in burlap of course, are excessive, overdone, and needs to be left on the boards of Pinterest.”.“Bouquet & Garter toss is surprisingly not making it to 2018 and yes your mother may be upset about this but it is an event worth skipping for more time on the dance floor.”.“Grooms cake, it was cool in 2016 & 2017 but lets leave it behind with the rest of our bad habits in 2017.”.We asked what things are going out of style in 2018, and these are the responses we received: Each of these things have been a huge part of a lot of our weddings here at Commellini and we are sad to see them go. All Terms Of Use apply.Going Out of Style Commellini Estate did an exclusive interview with an anonymous Industry Professional, who was brutally honest about what is going out of style once 2018 is here.

We want to thank our sponsors who helped make this experience a huge success: Buttercream Bakeshop, Fancy Cakes, Just Write Studios, Blowfish, and Capital Kettlecorn and LaCroix! We also want to thank Amanda McCabe and her team at Beacon & Berkeley Events for their design and event planning direction. We could not have done it without them! And of course, thank you to Washingtonian Magazine for having us. He even pulled us all together for an impromptu group selfie immediately before opening up our exhibit to welcome couples into the room. Monte Durham from Say Yes to the Dress was even on-site and spent time hanging out with our team and even got involved with assembling a gift and giving us his strong opinions on how ribbons should be tied! We loved seeing that he's just as much of a perfectionist as we are when it comes to tying the perfect bow. The most popular colors, you ask? By far, burgundy and blush! We had many different colors of ribbon to choose from so couples could select a ribbon that best matched their wedding colors. To top it off, couples were able to choose a hand-calligraphed welcome tag by Jessica McSweeney who was in the room showing off her calligraphy skills in real life! Then they came to the center of the room where our team assisted them in tying ribbon as their finishing touch.

We featured custom signage at each station such a "Pick Your Packaging," "Select Your Sweets," "Handle Your Hangover," "Grab Your Guide," and so on. This DC event was a chance for us to interact with engaged couples and bring them through the process of building their own welcome bag from selecting from a box or bag to adding locally sourced DC treats (sweet and savory!) to adding beverages, hangover kits, and even welcome booklets. When we were invited back by Washingtonian Magazine to create another interactive Welcome Gift Experience activation for couples at this year's Unveiled bridal showcase, we were absolutely elated! We had such an amazing time at the 2019 Unveiled and couldn't wait to try to top what we did last year! We had an entire room at the Mandarin Oriental DC assigned to our team to set up and beautifully display the packaging options and gift contents much like is done at a pop-up shop!
